EA FC 26 Clubs goalkeeper guide

Clubs goalkeeping is affected by animations and latency, but starting position and communication still reduce impossible saves.

Step 1

Build the starting position

Stay between the ball and the centre of goal, adjusting the angle with small movements. An early wide step exposes the near post and forces a sharp recovery.

Track the square-pass option as well as the ball carrier so the position leaves a response to both.

Step 2

Separate saves from claims

Agree who owns a ball behind the defence before the event. A late half-commitment is worse than a clear stay or full exit.

Do not turn every cross into an automatic claim; account for trajectory, traffic and connection delay.

Step 3

Use short defensive calls

Use repeatable calls such as keep, coming, back post and reset. A long explanation arrives too late.

After conceding, name the observable space rather than blaming a player.

Step 4

Practise one event type

Group clips from one shooting zone and compare the starting position. Train one-on-ones and square passes separately.

Community control tips are patch-sensitive. Keep only habits that repeat across a set of matches.
