Step 1

Position before the save

Start with angle and distance from the line. The earlier the position is correct, the less reaction has to compensate.

Step 2

Agree on a safe outlet before kickoff. A forced central pass can undo a good save.

Step 3

Use short calls for near post, far post and coming out. Defenders can hold the line when your responsibility is clear.
