EA FC 26 Clubs formations for 2–3 players
A small group benefits more from connected human jobs than from filling the three most attacking positions.

Step 1
Build a complementary pair
One human should progress play while another provides a safe pass or cover. ST plus CAM, CM plus ST or CDM plus attacker often connect better than two distant wingers.
Use the third human where AI most often breaks your structure: goalkeeper, centre-back, holding midfield or the attacking link.
Step 2
Shortlist clear structures
Treat 4-4-2 Holding, 4-2-3-1 and 3-5-2 as hypotheses rather than a meta ranking. The first two retain a familiar back line; the third demands disciplined width.
Remove any shape that forces both humans to recover the entire pitch or leaves AI as the only connector.
Step 3
Set transition rules
Decide who pressures the ball, who blocks the central pass and who remains the outlet. Three short rules beat a long instruction sheet.
Do not pull an AI defender out until a human has covered the released zone.
Step 4
Compare equal samples
Play three matches in each of two shapes with the same human roles. Track central turnovers, press exits and counterattack chances as well as results.
Save both versions in FC CAPTAIN so the team can switch without rebuilding the lineup.
